Darth Sion, also known as the Lord of Pain, is a prominent figure in the Star Wars expanded universe, specifically within the role-playing video game Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords (2004). He is a Sith Lord who existed approximately 4,000 years before the Galactic Empire.
Sion's defining characteristic is his unique ability to sustain himself through the dark side of the Force. He essentially "cheated" death by channeling his pain, rage, and hatred to continuously reconstruct his body despite being mortally wounded. This process left him scarred and disfigured, a living testament to his mastery of the dark side.
Prior to becoming a Sith Lord, Sion was a soldier in the Great Sith War. He embraced the dark side under Exar Kun. After many defeats he died, but resurrected himself through the power of the Dark Side of the Force. He serves as one of the primary antagonists, seeking to crush the Jedi Order and perpetuate the Sith legacy alongside Darth Traya and Darth Nihilus.
